这是我小时候发生的事情了，小时候我非常贪玩，经常和小伙伴们到茂密的芦苇丛中去捉迷藏，胆子也很大。村子前面半里多地有个大水塘，几百亩大，周围芦苇十分茂密，岁岁不绝。
水塘虽是块风水宝地，但历年也淹死了不少人，老人们都知道里面闹“水猴子”，也就是俗称的水鬼！据说水鬼是要找人做替身的，它好转世，它能让游泳的人溺死，也能跳起来把人拉下水！
我九岁那年夏天，里面又淹死了一个人，风传水鬼又要发作，一时间闹得人心惶惶，家家大人严令孩子绝对不能到水塘游泳，甚至不能到水塘边玩。奶奶也不让我出去乱跑了，但是她毕竟年纪大，生性慈祥，对我管得不是很严格。
