2013年元月，我接到一趟长途包车的活计，这要比跑短途拉客来钱得快，但一个女人家在异地他乡，总是内心忐忑，于是我一卸下客人，就冒雨连夜向家赶去。
这时，雨越下越大了，天也黑得彻底，这是偏远小城，行人行车稀少，我想起最近劫杀出租车司机的新闻，越想越害伯，于是脚下猛踩油门，加快了速度。
在一拐弯处，我不得不放慢了车速，刚拐定车，一个黑色人影猛地向车扑来，吓得我紧急刹车。一个三十左右、衣裳破旧的男人扑在了我车玻璃上，使劲地敲打着车玻璃：“司机师傅，救救我，我被车撞了。”
我们司机就讨厌这种强行拦车的人，何况在这荒郊野岭，万一他是劫匪怎么办？看男人嘴角有血，也不知是真是假，我想：就算他不是劫匪，可看他穷困潦倒的样子，说不定就会赖上我。
我犹豫不定，真不想多管闲事，索性踩下油门，想置之不理。车开出去几米，我从倒车镜里，看到黑暗中男人无助佝偻地望着我，心里一软，心想：这么大的雨，前不着村后不着店，这个男人万一真受伤了，怎么办呢？难道真叫我见死不救吗？

男人虚弱地说：“你真是个好人，半个月前，这里就有个农民被车撞了，肇事司机跑了，那人挣扎着向过路行车求救，可没有一辆车愿意停下来，四个小时后，那人走到前面一座小桥，死在了上面。”
我相信这是事实，因为现在心硬无良的人太多了，我的车加足马力，经过一座石墩桥，就到离这最近的县城了。
马上就要过桥了，男人突然拉住我：“不能走，前面的桥刚被雨水冲毁了，赶紧绕道。”
前面黑乎乎的，男人怎么看到了？我才把客人送过来，根本就是好好的啊。

把男人送到医院时，已是午夜零点了，等我把医生和担架叫出来，突然发现男人不见了，车内空空的，连那股臭味都没有了，仿佛他从来没有来过，他去了哪里，他不是伤得很重吗？
像做梦一样，男人消失了，无影无踪。
半个月后，我又接到了一单长途，又来到这座小城，在经过石墩桥时，看到前面立着“正在施工，车辆绕行”的标志。
